CIPPRes Conference

Conference for Interventional Psychiatry
and Psychedelic Research 2027

Monday 22 – Tuesday 23 March 2027
Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford

The International Ketamine Conference that was re-named to “glutamate conference” is now getting yet a new name: Conference for Interventional Psychiatry and Psychedelic Research, or “The CIPPRes Conference”

After years of brilliant work with the Oxford Ketamine conference, Rupert McShane has decided to pass on the running of it to his colleagues at Imperial College: The conference will therefore from now be hosted by Imperial’s Centre for Interventional Psychiatry and Psychedelic Research and its co-Director David Erritzoe, and co-hosted by Professor Rupert McShane (Oxford University), Celia Morgan (Exeter University) and Professor Anthony Cleare (ISAD). The March 2027 meeting still takes place in Oxford in the same venue as the previous meeting. The conference will be held in partnership with ISAD.

Welcome

Conference for Interventional Psychiatry and Psychedelic Research (CIPPRes Conference) 2027 brings together leading researchers, clinicians and other experts to share and discuss the latest developments in ketamine and classic psychedelic therapies for mental health.

It will be hosted at The Blavatnik School of Government, which offers state-of-the-art conferencing facilities and regularly hosts international symposia and events.

The theme for the March 2027 meeting: Ketamine and other psychedelics: from clinical status and mechanisms to mental healthcare implementation.

The first day will focus on novel clinical and mechanistic science. Sessions will span emerging clinical data on ketamine and classic psychedelics, new and ongoing trials, therapeutic mechanisms, biomarkers and predictors of response, and approaches to understanding and optimising treatment effects. The programme will bring together clinical and translational research to explore not only whether these treatments work, but how, for whom, and under what conditions.

The second day will turn from evidence to implementation. A series of expert panels will explore how ketamine and psychedelic therapies can be responsibly and pragmatically integrated into real-world mental healthcare. Discussions will address barriers to implementation, reimbursement and health-economic considerations, regulatory and governance challenges, workforce and training requirements, pragmatic models of care, treatment monitoring and safety, and strategies for delivering these treatments at scale.

The conference debate, welcome reception and conference dinner will provide opportunities to meet fellow researchers, clinicians and other leaders in the field and will be hosted at Rhodes House, a historic Grade II listed building in the heart of Oxford.
